Vanadium is a silverwhite metal widely used in the aerospace, medical, and automotive industries. Its most significant application is as an alloying element in steel: approximately 80% of all vanadium is used to produce ferrovanadium, a key additive that enhances the strength, toughness, and wear resistance of steel. It is essential in manufacturing rustresistant spring steels, highspeed tool steels, and other highperformance alloys. Vanadium is also added to stabilize carbides in steel, and vanadium foil is commonly used to bond titanium to steel.

Highpurity vanadium is used as an electronbeam (Ebeam) evaporation material for thinfilm deposition, metallization, encapsulation, and surface modification processes. It is also employed in the production of vanadium sputtering targets for advanced coating and semiconductor applications.
