Description

Tellurium is a brittle, mildly toxic, rare, silver-white metalloid. Its primary use is Copper-Tellurium (CuTe) and steel alloys, where it improves machinability.
High purity Tellurium is used in the electronics industry due to its unique electrical and thermo-conductive properties. It can be found in thermo-electric materials, such as Bismuth Telluride (BiTe) for cooling devices and Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) for photovoltaic cells and infrared optical windows. Another Tellurium alloy, Cadmium Zink (CdZn) or Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CdZnTe), is used to produce solid-state x-ray detectors. Gallium Telluride (GaTe) evaporation material is made of high purity Gallium Telluride (GaTe), which can be used for electron beam and thermal evaporation. It is also used as source materials for molecular beam epitaxial applications in semiconductor researches and productions.
