Description
Antimony is considered to be a “strategic metal”. Its applications includes Antimony oxide used as a flame retardant in plastics and textiles for vehicles and aircraft. Antimony metal is used in storage batteries and in ordnance to harden lead. And Antimony tri-sulfide is used for primers in ordnance and rockets.
High purity Antimony is used to produce III/V-semiconductors like Indium Antimonide (InSb) and Gallium Antimonide (GaSb) for electronic sensors and infrared detectors; and as a dopant for n-type of conducting silicon single crystals. High purity Antimony metal is also used for manufacturing sputtering targets and evaporation materials as well as source materials in the molecule beam epitaxial applications in semiconductor researches and productions.
