Molybdenum is a silvergray refractory metal valued for its exceptional strength, high melting point, and excellent resistance to corrosion and wear. The majority of molybdenum is used to produce highperformance alloys – particularly steel alloys – where it enhances hardness, mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and durability. These “moly steels” are commonly found in engine components, heating elements, cutting tools, drills, and saw blades.

Beyond alloying, molybdenum plays a critical role as a catalyst in petroleum refining. It is also used as a filament material in various electronic and electrical applications due to its stability at high temperatures.

In the semiconductor and electronics industries, highpurity molybdenum is frequently used for thinfilm deposition, thermal management, and device fabrication. It serves as a key material for Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE), and other advanced processes, as well as for heat sinks and semiconductor components requiring excellent thermal and electrical performance.
