Pyrolytic Boron Nitride (PBN)
Pyrolytic Boron Nitride (PBN) is manufactured by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. Boron nitride materials are deposited on a graphite mandrel at a temperature over 1800°C and under a pressure of less than 1 Torr in a specially designed reaction chamber. The CVD process at high temperature and under reduced pressure enables the production of PBN with ultra low levels of impurities.
PBN does not react with metal, acids, alkalis, organic solvents and glass and graphite. It is also able to withstand the shocks related with rapid heating or cooling. The following are the PBN advantages:
